What is technical Writing

Technical writing is a form of communication used in a variety of fields like software, hardware, finance, marketing biotechnology etc. A technical writer communicates the technology to both the technical and non technical audience.
Technical Writers gather the required information from any existing documents or from Subject Matter Experts (SME).
Technical writing is often associated with online help, user manuals, release notes, software installation guides, troubleshooting guides etc.
As said earlier, technical communication is audience oriented. Follow 3Ps will writing
• Purpose
• Particular audience
• Piece of information
As a technical writer you need to translate complex technical concepts into simple terms to perform specific tasks in a specific way.
Avoid technical jargons and present the information needed in a clear and easy to understand method. Don’t sow seeds of confusion in your readers mind.
